SolarSim

After evaluating the SolarSim software, I recommend we use the PV Grid Connect Simulator included in the package.
By feeding in some key inputs such as PV panel horizontal slope, azimuth angle, reflectance of ground, and location data, we can see estimates for monthly solar power usage. These power usage estimates account for the various seasons, etc.
I understand that in this competition, we will also be connected to a community power grid. The team that "sells" the most power back to the grid is awarded extra points I believe. This software can estimate how much electricity needs to be purchased/sold given the house parameters.
SolarSim also has thorough hot water simulation software, which could also be of use.
